GCT 155mm Self Propelled Gun

I’ve been trying to work out what this slightly rusty Self Propelled Gun (SPG) is, parked up at the back of the Musee de Blindes in Saumur, awaiting a little love and attention from their restoration teams.

Now, thanks to TankNutDave.com, and some time I spent trawling through photos of SPGs (!), I’ve nailed it.

It’s French – not altogether surprising to find at the French national tank museum, although I was leaning towards Russian – from the 1970s. It’s a GCT 155mm Self Propelled Gun.
