Messerschmitt Bf 109 Relocated

The rather spectacular Bf 109 that has been displayed at the Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr (Luftwaffe museum) in Gatow on the outskirts of Berlin for the last 21 years has been moved to the Luftfahrt Technisches Museum (Aviation Technical Museum) in Rechlin, Germany where she is now on long-term loan.

This particular 109 looks good, but the paint job making her out to be the Bf 102 flown in North Africa & Italy by Major Gustav Rödel of II./JG 27 in 1943, is deceptive. In fact she was manufactured under license in Spain by Hispano Aviación five years after WW2 for the Spanish Air Force.

She was moved in March 2016 but has only just been unveiled in her new location.
