Classic and vintage car fans will be getting ready for next year’s Rétromobile in Paris in February.
The annual Salon Rétromobile started in 1976 and is now one of the best-known collector car exhibitions in Europe, drawing around 130,000+ visitors, 450+ exhibitors and 500+ automobiles. It is held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre.
Enthusiasts, owners and collectors gather at the show each year, to view amazing cars and collections, to source parts and services (restoration, insurance, etc) they need, and to buy and sell cars in the auctions.
For example, the specialist auction house, Artcurial Motorcars will be bring a collection of five rare Ferraris* to the show, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” and a number of other unique cars and motorcycles.
It is also part-art show. Rétromobile 2025 will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the ground-breaking Citroën DS with a special art exhibition by Mathieu Lustrerie
And there’s to be an exhibition looking at the life of Adolphe Kégresse, who was a revolutionary (if that’s the right description for somebody who worked for Tsar Nicholas II!) in the car industry and who, among other things, created this little beauty.
If you really want to get a sense of the scale of this show and the sort of vehicles it attracts, take a look at Richard Michael Owen’s enthusiastic two hour video of the 2024 edition. If you haven’t got two hours to spare you can easily dip in and out using his diligently annotated timeline. 🙂
Rétromobile 2025 runs from 5 to 9 February 2025, at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, 15th Arrondissement, PARIS.
