Hertz is suggesting that “a car of this spec needs a route to match it” and so there is a ‘NASCAR Homelands’ route on their Hertz American Road Trip Planner Beginning at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida and ending at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, North Carolina, it covers some of NASCAR’s most recognisable racetracks, museums and the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
10 stops, over 10 days, and across 1,200 miles on the US East Coast with nothing but NASCAR. The full list of stops on the route are: the Daytona International Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, Richard Petty Museum, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Kannapolis, Mustang Owners’ Museum, and the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Ok, Mechtraveller is dedicated to sustainable eco technologies (especially electric vehicles and wind farms, I love wind farms!) but engineering excellence, even full octane carbon-based, is cool. I know this is hardly eco-friendly, but it’s limited impact and sexy. The movement to turn around climate change will never accelerate if it is puritanical.
