Interesting. I’m away at the moment, I’ll check my sources on where he landed when I get back…. but yes, I bet the Golf Club would prefer to keep the greens clear of enthusiastic history buffs!

When I played golf at the St. Omer Golf Club some 20 years ago there was a plaque on the golf course that stated that it was the place that DB had landed after being shot down. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a camera with me that day so I’m wondering what the story is. Possibly the Golf Club wouldn’t like busloads of tourists wandering up its hilly fairways!
