When RAF Andover was decommissioned , about 15 years ago , there was a ceremony in the town . There was a pop up gazebo with lots of photos , l assumed were to do with RAF Andover . One of of the photos was of a white Ju 55 the type Goring travelled in .
The caption was a general one , celebrating the RAF’s 25 th anniversary . The hangers in the background looked like RAF Andover before they were demolished. Could this have been Croydon instead or a previously unknown visit made by Herman Goring to the UK ?

In reply to Elizabeth Joan Wade. Hi Elizabeth, That's interesting. Did you have the impression it was 'on display' by the airport or some British authority, OR, that it was an ambassadorial car just parked there? If you see what I mean? Was this before the war started, during or after?

As a child I recall my father taking me to Croydon Airport to see Hitler’s car that was on display there. It’s strange as no one seems to know anything about it.
